The Fairfield Mules boys basketball team plays in the Black Diamond East with Eldorado, Carmi-White County, Hamilton County, Vienna, and Johnston City.  Last season the Mules finished 7-22 overall.

The 2010 edition of the 46th Eldorado Holiday tournament kicks off at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium December 27th through December 29th and it features Herrin, NCOE, Meridian, Hamilton County, Harrisburg, Pope County, Fairfield, Gallatin County, Carmi-White County, Galatia, Massac County, Hardin County, Carrier Mills, Eldorado, Anna-Jonesboro, and West Frankfort.

Harrisburg (#1 seed) is the team favored to win it all with Meridian (4) having a good shot to take the title.  Teams that have a good chance if they can string together a few good games is Massac County and Anna-Jonesboro.  Carrier Mills, mostly because of being a smaller team received the #6 seed, but they are a team that can make waves.
