Du Quoin Indians
Sunday, 06 December 2009 10:11The Du Quoin Indians play hoops in the Southern Illinois River to River Conference - Mississippi Division with Chester, Pinckneyville, Sparta, Anna-Jonesboro, and Nashville.
The Indians went 4-0 in the Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic to start the year. Earning special honors in the Tip-Off Classic were Matt Gossett as the MVP and Marcus Clarry winning the Sportsmanship Award. All-Tourney team Matt Gossett (SR), J.C. Davis, Du Quoin (JR), and Jamor Reed, Du Quoin (SR).

Du Quoin at Harrisburg
Sunday, 12 December 2010 01:01This Southern Illinois River to River crossover game is a big game this week because both teams are coming off tournament championships, both come in undefeated (Du Quoin is 4-0 and Harrisburg is 6-0) and are #2 (Bulldogs) and #3 (Indians) in Points Per Game in 2A offense with Harrisburg edging out Du Quoin.
Harrisburgs hosts after coming off a big time win against Massac County in conference play while Du Quoin beat Sparta on Friday. Still early in the year and non-conference but the winner gets a bit more bragging rights heading into holiday tournament play.
Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic
Saturday, 04 December 2010 08:46The Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic starts the season off for a few of these teams on Wednesday December 1st, 2010 and it runs through December 4th. Participating teams in this four team Round Robin Invitational are the Du Quoin Indians, Benton Rangers, Waltonville Spartans, and the Cairo Pilots.
The Du Quoin Indians win their own Tip-Off Tournament by going 3-0 with wins over Benton (63-48), Cairo (73-57), and Waltonville (70-35).

All Tournament Team: Du Quoin's Conor Wheeler, Du Quoin's JC Davis, Du Quoin's Seth Baxter, Cairo's Cori Williams, Hershel Graham and Devin Mayfield, Benton's Leffler, Cody Smith, and Caleb Surver, and Waltonville's Trey Witges and Luke Stanhouse.
